Our Story
The EZ-CRANK was born out of the hands-on experience of Jon Richardson, who has been in the trucking and excavating business for 30 years. Throughout his career, Jon has always been thinking about ways to work smarter not harder. He consistently observed the struggle with the time-consuming process of hitching and unhitching trailers. He was compelled to design a solution that would save trailer-users like himself from the frustration of this mundane task.
With a keen sense of innovation and a deep understanding of the trailer industry, Jon began to develop the EZ-CRANK trailer jack drill adapter in his own garage. His design centered around a simple addition to a tool that everyone already has: the cordless drill. After years of tinkering, testing, and countless iterations, the EZ-CRANK emerged as an indispensable tool for truckers and the like. It transformed a traditionally tedious task into a simple, streamlined process, thereby improving efficiency for truck drivers everywhere.

Meet Jack, the pup behind EZ-CRANK
Jack, Jon’s devoted Rat Terrier, served as his trusted confidant. With Rat Terriers thriving on mental stimulation, Jon would frequently share his ideas with Jack, who would respond with a reassuring grin. Sadly, when Jack passed away in 2019, it wasn’t merely the loss of a pet to Jon, but the conclusion of an era. Nonetheless, the memory of Jack’s unwavering loyalty and joyful companionship is forever etched in Jon’s heart. It serves as an enduring wellspring of inspiration as he continues to enrich the lives of truckers and similar individuals through the innovation of EZ-CRANK.
How It Works
Hook and unhook your trailer in 3 easy steps:
- Remove existing handle from your trailer jack.
- Attach EZ-CRANK adapter to your cordless drill.
- Slide on to any 1″ trailer handle stud and secure with pin, then raise and lower your trailer.
For your safety, only use the EZ-Crank with an empty trailer.
